Brewing workshop with a community vibe
Peter Kindel will guide us through the art of brewing beer, cider and mead using village hops, apple and honey. A great chance to join up with neighbours old and new - bantering and brewing as we go. He says
“Not everyone knows that one of the reasons I became a cheesemaker was inspired by brewing beer at a microbrewery in Colorado. I still brew beer for fun and love sharing the knowledge.
Join me for a full day of hands on fermentation. The day will center around brewing a batch of all grain beer using the hops that are growing in the church yard.
During this class we will;
1. Have access to an apple mill and press to process apples/pears for cider, hard or not. Feel free to bring your own fruit or grab some from the allotment trees.
2. Using honey from the Church yard beehives we will mix a batch of mead.
3. Go over the beer making process in detail which will take 3-4 hours start to finish. I will bottle the beer and have it available at a follow up class when it is ready.
This is a daytime workshop running from 11am-4pm.
